During the General Assembly of the Josette and Maurice Audin Association (AJMA) meeting on September 7, 2022, the renewed Board of Directors elected Cédric Villani as President of the association. The other members of the board of directors are René Cori and Gilles Manceron (vice-presidents), Fatiha Charifi (treasurer), Francois Demerliac and Martine Tabeaud (secretaries).

This renewal follows the decision of Pierre Mansat to leave his position as president of our association, which he has assumed without interruption since its creation in 2004.

“The participants praised his tireless action to keep the memory of Maurice Audin alive, to continue the fight so that the whole truth be told about his disappearance and those of the “1000 others”, for the defense of the freedoms, to establish and strengthen bonds of friendship and solidarity between the Algerian and French peoples and fruitful scientific cooperation,” the statement said. who recalls “that he took the initiative of the visit of an AJMA delegation to Algeria last spring and largely contributed to the great success of this operation. The values ​​he defended will obviously continue to guide the action of our association. »

For the newly elected president, Cédric Villani, “it is another ardent defender of these values ​​who is joining us. He played a decisive role in the historic act carried out at the home of Josette Audin on September 13, 2018 by the President of the Republic in recognizing France’s responsibility in the kidnapping and assassination of Maurice Audin by the military and the police. practice of torture by the French army in Algeria,” the statement concluded.
